There are different ways to install a fire rated door. The most popular one is using fixing anchors.
To install the door with fixing anchors, follow these steps:
> Open the fixing anchors at 90°. Prepare the gap making the slits where the anchors will be fitted. Fig.1.
> With the leaf closed and without removing the protection elements, place the door inside the gap. For a correct functioning, the door must be flat and square, and well set. Fig. 2.
> Cover the frame all around with mortar or fast-setting cement. Check that it’s well covered on the outside as well as on the inside.
> Once it’s completely set, remove the protection elements of the leaf. Fig. 3.
> If you want to take off the lower stiffener, remove it using a hammer and a chisel around the welded joints to the frame.
> Finally, install the handles and paint the wall.
Before finishing
> Check if the installation has been done correctly and the door functions accordingly.
> Regulate the door if needed, leaving the correct installation clearance and respecting the established tolerance.
> The door requires regular maintenance. Please follow the maintenance instructions for that purpose.
