Fire-rated sliding doors are designed to close off and compartmentalize large openings, whether in the “always open” position or under heavy-duty use. When the alarm signal sends a pulse to the electromagnet (24 VDC) or the thermal fuse reaches a temperature of 68°C, the door is released and pulled by the counterweight, leaving the door completely closed; when exposed to fire, the intumescent gasket installed in the smoke-sealing labyrinth expands around the entire perimeter of the door, sealing it shut.
