Instructions for maintenance of fire-rated doors

The installed doors and shutters must be maintained as follows:

• Verify that there are no elements that prevent the door from opening properly (padlocks, padlock holders, etc.) or that are in the way when the door is opened (hooks, wedges, etc.).
• Check the door, leaf and frame, to see if it presents any mechanical damage that prevent the door from opening properly (warping, falling, scratches, cracks, dents, corrosion defects, etc.).
• Check the hinge fixation and grease the axes.
• Check the clearance and adjust them if needed, respecting the tolerance.
• Check the unblocking force of the opening devices to see if they work properly and to make sure they won’t block the evacuation. Grease the mobile elements.
• Make sure that the turning force of the door is adequate and that it allows total closure of the door.
• If it is the case, check and regulate the closing devices or door closers.
• On double-leaf doors, check the closing selector and tighten if needed.
• Check the intumescent seal.
• Check the attachments and glass seals, as well as the breaches, cracks or general defects there may be.
• Make sure the anti-burglary pins are in good condition.
• Make sure the plate with the door details is perfectly visible.
• If it is the case, check the electromagnetic device.
