Fire safety is a vitally important issue in any building, especially in places such as homes, schools, hospitals and public spaces in general, where the safety of people is always a priority. In these cases, it is essential to have metal fire doors that comply with regulations and offer a high level of protection and safety.
Asturmadi Doors, S.L. has the most important certifications worldwide, such as the European Certification, EU (EI2 60MN, EI2 90MN and EI2 120MN) or the American Certification UL (UL 90MN, UL 120MN, UL 180MN) that indicates the fire resistance time. In addition to these 2 certifications, it also has CE Marking, UKCA and multiple local certifications such as the French PV and Romanian Agreement, among others.
How to obtain a certificate
The fireproof certificates are obtained through prestigious laboratories where the doors are tested. Asturmadi Doors has its metal doors certified by laboratories such as Efectis, TUV Rheinhald, Skyblue or Certiberia among many others, which are recognized worldwide. Asturmadi Doors is audited by more than 10 laboratories annually, which inspect the entire manufacturing process, raw materials and documentary support that must be updated to maintain and expand all certifications.
Identification of a metal fire door
All the metal fire doors have a label on the side of the door where you can see the characteristics of each door, such as fire resistance, dimensions, etc. Asturmadi Doors marks all its metallic fire doors with a laser label that has a QR code, making it easier for all its customers to identify each of the doors. By means of the QR code, a perfect traceability of each of the doors that are manufactured can be made, thus facilitating our customers the replacement of a door, even years after it has been manufactured.
Meaning of EI2 and C-5
How a fire door is identified and what it means and marks. As mentioned above, all fire doors, in order to be recognized as such, must be identified by means of labels and these labels give a complete description of their characteristics. For example, EI2 60MN. “E” refers to the integrity or ability to withstand the effects of fire of the 2 sides of the door, “I” insulation or ability of the element to withstand fire exposure of both sides of the door, “60MN” fire resistance time. The “C-5″ is a certificate of self-closing durability of 200,000 cycles.
Therefore, and due to the high number of certifications that Asturmadi Doors has, we have very high manufacturing parameters and a very strict control of the raw materials used in the production process. All this must be kept documented by our Quality Department that keeps our documentary database updated, which is inspected monthly by external auditors from different countries.
