Access panels are doors or panels that can be easily opened or removed to provide access to a part to which you need occasional access in order to make a repair. They are most often used to give access to water, electricity, gas, telecommunication compartments, amongst others. If they are fire-rated, they also offer protections and isolate the compartment to avoid the fire from spreading.
Access panels come in a wide range of different dimensions, from very small cable panels to over 2-meter-high doors that allow the entrance of people, tools and equipment. With single or double leaf.
What differentiates these from regular swing doors?
Access panels are manufactured with an all-around frame, as opposed to the usual one that does not frame the bottom of the door. They usually come with lock and cylinder that allow to lock the door properly with a key, but they can also be manufactured with a triangle locking system to make the access easier.
